One-Pot Pasta with Mince

Ideal for hectic weeknights, this one-pot supper consists of spaghetti and flavorful minced beef.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound Minced beef or turkey
  • 12 ounces Pasta (e.g., penne or fusilli)
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 2 Cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 3 cups Chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • 1 tsp Dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions
 

  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
  • Add minced meat, cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • Stir in the crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  • When you add the pasta to the pot, make sure it is completely submerged in the liquid.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is cooked.
  • Serve with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves.
