Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 lbs (approximately 680g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha or your preferred hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Chicken:

  • In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, and pepper.
  • Add the chicken pieces and toss until evenly coated.

Sear the Chicken:

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the coated chicken pieces in a single layer.
  • Cook for about 6-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare the Sauce:

  • In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Stir in the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and sriracha.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Thicken the Sauce:

  • In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
  • Slowly pour the slurry into the simmering sauce, stirring continuously.
  • Continue to cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.

Combine and Serve:

  • Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, tossing to coat each piece thoroughly with the sauce.
  • Allow everything to heat through for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.
  • Serve hot over rice with steamed vegetables.
