- 1/3 cup light brown sugar
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
For the Donuts
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 3/4 cup buttermilk (or milk + 1 tsp vinegar/lemon juice)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
For the Glaze
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Prepare the Crumble Topping
In a bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
Stir in the melted butter until the mixture forms coarse crumbs.
Set aside.
Make the Donut Batter
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla until smooth.
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
Carefully fold in the blueberries.
Bake the Donuts
Spoon or pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over each donut.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the donuts are golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Prepare the Glaze
In a bowl, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Adjust the milk to reach your desired consistency.
Glaze and Serve
Once the donuts are cooled, dip the tops into the glaze. Allow any excess to drip off.
Serve as is, or sprinkle a bit more crumble on top for extra texture.
